An abundance of definitions exist explaining what popular culture is. Exploring this phenomenon across the world, one will find that popular culture is a constant change in society being passed from generation to generation. Human cultures mostly develop from, and exist in the expressive side of human behavior (Trice & Beyer, 1991). How people think, dream, act, and live is measured as popular culture. Honestly, up to this point in my life, an introduction to this subject matter has not crossed my mind. As I examine the importance of what popular culture is, the explanation for different societies to crave acceptance based on lifestyle is understood. The diversification amongst communities allows humans to feel excepted, and normal in their own everyday world. Popular culture to me is a voice of continuous ideas, and choices that enrich my life decisions.

Understanding popular culture as the subject relates to a work environment is crucial in one’s own decision-making process. As I move forward with obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, learning popular culture, and what significance this will transmit into my career is important to recognize. I need to prepare myself for an atmosphere of leadership, and professionalism, both affected by popular culture. Cultural leadership indicates the extent to which understandings, and a leadership process affects expressive behaviors. Popular conceptions of leadership, formalized in trait theory, expect leaders to have special personal attributes that set them apart. Administration who leads others to embrace cultural innovation may need some unusual personal qualities. An example would include high self-confidence, dominance, and strong conviction in the moral righteousness of their beliefs. The previously mentioned qualities sustain leaders in their fundamental missions and help them to attract and hold followers. In reaching my success, I hope to utilize my knowledge of popular culture in a effective way (Trice & Beyer, 1991).
An interesting pop culture artifact is the famous “Coach” purse. Female consumers all across America, and the world go to great lengths to purchase one of these handbags. I will admit that my closet does contain a stylish “Coach” purse. Coach designs are classy, fresh, and versatile. The demand for Coach purses is primarily because of the name that it has established as one of the best manufacturers of fashionable bags in the world (“Reasons to buy,” 2009). Even though some Coach handbags support pricey tags, they are not restricted to the wealthy, and one doesn’t have to spend excessive dollars to invest in one of these bags. No matter if one is the athletic type, business savvy, or the casually styled girl, carrying a Coach purse will display a sophisticated appeal (“Reasons to buy,” 2009). Coach keeps up with the constant change of consumer fashion. If consumers are unwilling to purchase the real deal due to costs, “knock off ” versions are available for much less expense in cities all over the nation. If one wants a stylish handbag, Coach is a ladies best friend.

  1. Honestly, I wouldn't buy coach because I think it is to expensive an item. I usually base my purchase following how useful an item is and it is just a purse..., a very expensive purse which I can buy the same kind of purse with different label for cheaper and it will do the same thing as if it was "coach". I think that coach represent money that not everybody has unfortunately

  2. I do not own a coach purse. Personally, I do not see the appeal. I choose to purchase knock-offs whenever I see an expensive purse I like. I have a real LV from the Philippines that was way cheaper than one in the US and a Prada knock off that was under $50.00. I know alot of women who own Coach purses and love them so I understand that they are definately a part of our popular culture.
